Silly Mutts Tales Storyteller

🐾 About the Storyteller

Hi there! I’m Joy Marier, a storyteller who believes in the magic of giggles, wagging tails, and big hearts. Before I began spinning Silly Mutts adventures, I spent years teaching incredible special-education kids with learning disabilities, mental health and behavioral challenges at public schools in California,  Oregon and Family Solutions. They taught me that every child—and every pup—has a story worth telling.

My rescue dog, Candy, became my muse with her goofy grins, kind heart, and unstoppable mission to chase every squirrel in our backyard. Thanks to her (and a few chewed-up socks), The Silly Mutts Tales were born!

These days, I live in Oregon, where I spend my time writing, laughing, and taking long walks with Candy—she calls it “field research.” My stories celebrate kindness, teamwork, and learning through laughter, because mistakes are just stepping-stones to growing kinder and braver.

A huge tail-wag thank-you to my husband, Terry Marier, M.C., whose experience in children’s therapy—and his fun, imaginative ideas—helped bring these silly mutt adventures to life.

Together, we hope our tales bring families closer, with plenty of smiles, snuggles, and happy barks along the way! 🐶💛
